COSA 2025 Keynote Speaker

Dr. Rosalie Connell was a graduate research fellow of the Injury Biomechanics Research Center at Ohio State University. Rosalie graduated from TCNJ in 2021 with a B.S. in biomedical engineering. She received her M.S. and Ph.D. in biomedical engineering with a doctoral minor in anatomy from The Ohio State University, supported by the Dean’s Distinguished University Fellowship. She looks forward to beginning her career as an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Lafayette College in the fall of 2025.

Rosalie’s research interests include injury biomechanics, occupant protection, and anatomy. Specifically, her current research is focused on pediatric occupant safety and vulnerable road users. Through this work, Rosalie has become a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician and Car Fit Technician. Additionally, Rosalie is passionate about education and outreach surrounding child passenger safety. In partnership with Columbus Public Health, Rosalie served as an Albert Schweitzer Fellow to address child passenger safety disparities for families in Columbus, Ohio.

Rosalie is honored to return this year to the Celebration of Student Achievement to reflect on her valuable research experience at TCNJ (including participation at COSA) and how that shaped her research and career trajectory. Her keynote address will touch on the value of perseverance, collaborative, interdisciplinary work, and mentorship.
