Dr. Katharine Scott (she/her) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Wake Forest University. Dr. Scott graduated from The College of New Jersey in 2015. After graduation, Dr. Scott received her PhD in social and developmental psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and spent a brief period in a postdoctoral position at Northwestern University.
Dr. Scott’s research, teaching, and mentorship are all driven by a goal for social justice. The focus of Dr. Scott’s research is on impactful prejudice-reduction interventions that promote real world change. With this goal in mind, Dr. Scott synthesizes social and developmental psychology frameworks and methodologies to understand and reduce racial and gender biases starting in early childhood. Dr. Scott has received external research funding through the National Institutes of Health, the Society for Research in Child Development, and the Society for Personality and Social Psychology.
